Blue Morph Cambarus (L.) Diogenes ( Caught by Dale Westaby )54 viewsThis crayfish was collected form BlueBirdSprings Pond, WI. The pond was very high with vegetation and was fed by two artesian springs. Cambarus (L.) Diogenes was the only species present in the ponds at bluebird springs.

Environmentally Induced Cambarus (L.) Diogenes ( Caught by Dale Westaby )64 viewsThis crayfish was collected from Burntside River, MN from a high vegetated swampy part of the river. O. virilis, O. rusticus, and O. Immunis were also collected from this location. The crayfish was brown in hue when collected but it reached it blue-ish white hue by the lack of light and light substrate has environmentally induced this crayfish after a few molts.

Orconectes rusticus / propinquus hyrbid ( caught by Dale Westaby )62 viewsThis particular hybrid crayfish was caught on Garden Lake in MN in a shallow sandy bank with dark leaf litter and rotting driftwood as its habitat. This crayfish is a hybrid cross between O. rusticus and O. propinquus. Only hybrids were present in this part of the Lake.
