Plastic plants
Poster:
Hi I’ve got two plastic plants in my tank. Until recently everything’s been fine and dandy and the crays used to love climbing up them and hanging upside down. Lots of fun was had by all. Yesterday I noticed that my surviving crayfish (that’s another story  ) has started nibbling on one of the plants. Has anyone else noticed this type of behavior? Should I get rid of the yummy plastic plant? He’s getting a good diet of sinking pellets so he’s not going hungry!

He’s probably eating the algae that is accumulating on the plants. Crayfish are also algae eaters, and will "nibble" on any source of food they find.
