Interesting Tank Setup

Okay, so I am planning on getting a bigger tank in the next day or two. I’m wavering between a 29g and a 35g. But that’s not my question. When I do this, I plan on transferring Cam, the alleni, and all the white clouds and the two paradise fish into the bigger tank. That will leave Tori, the immunis, alone in her 10g and I will keep the other 10g around for a quarantine tank. What I was thinking for Tori’s tank is this, and I absolutely need everyone’s opinions. What if I took the 10g and set it up sort of like a terrarium/aquarium combo? I would use the large pebbles I already have, with the sand substrate in between and on top to build up one third the tank several inches high sloping a bit to a "beach." I could use an appropriately size rock slab (I have plenty out back) to form the "bed" of the stream. I’d get a small interior/exterior fountain style pump and set it horizontally (saw one at petco) to create a stream effect and that would help to oxygenate the water, and also a small internal corner filter to keep the water clean. I could play around with the depth of the water, but at least 4 or inches or more. This is sort of what I had in mind.

I know this may be an old thread, so you probably already went ahead with this. But I think that is a really cool idea. I always wanted to do a "shoreline" type tank. If you did this, I'd like to see some pics of the result!
