I was wondering how long it takes for their shells to harden. I left the shell in the tank so he could get the calcium out of it. How long should I leave it in the tank. Thanks for the help
Some people say to take the carapace out after a day or two. I''ve never taken any of mine out and they have always been eaten completely. Do give the crayfish at least a day or two to harden, before bothering it. Moulting is very stressful to them and mine usually stay away from the other crays about 2 days, so I don''t bother them until they are associating with the others again. Hope this helps.
